Our History

Gateway Higher Institute of Science and Technology (GHIST) was founded in January 2022 to serve the educational needs of the region and advance science and technology in Cameroon and beyond. A formal request to establish GHIST was submitted to the Ministry of Higher Education; the University of Bamenda was assigned to evaluate the institution's infrastructure, equipment and human resources (September 2023) and later conducted an academic evaluation (June 2024). GHIST offers programmes that blend rigorous academic instruction with practical experience, in modern classrooms, laboratories and research centres.
